Haseo/Azure Kite, "Have I entered an alternate universe or did you really just crack a smile for me?"
Though Haseo performs the many tasks Aura sets him without complaint, he's never really quite sure he enjoys it when those tasks involve working with the Azure Knights.
Sure, now that he's gotten to know them (as well as one can know incomplete data), and now that their programming sees him as an ally and not an enemy, it's not difficult at all - they manage to work in perfect concert, human nature and technological autonomy, and he knows that should be satisfying enough, but it still somehow manages to get to him in a way. He supposes it's the lack of real interaction, simply working in relative silence, never able to turn to one of them and carry on a conversation like he might with a friend, although he honestly has no idea what sort of conversation one might have with a half-finished program anyway and he doesn't think he wants to know. Still, in the end he still just wants--
And then one day he does, stopping before the Beast Temple with his hand on his hip, staring at Azure Kite. "…Don't you ever get bored with this?"
He gets no answer, really, but he didn't expect one - just a blank stare and that tiny little headtilt Azure Kite gives whenever something is odd, that luminescent eye seeming to stare right through him like it always does, and he shivers and folds his arms and pushes on anyway, because he can't very well stop now that he's started. "I mean - not exactly the work, but…" How does one explain themselves to a program, anyway? "…Just…being so quiet all the time. Never interacting. That's - we humans, you know," he unfolds his arms, gives himself a sharp tap on the chest. "We talk when we work, most of the time. About what we're doing, what we're going to do, whatever comes to mind…but I guess that wouldn't really work for you, huh." After all, Azure Kite can't really converse, it's hard enough to understand him when he does deign to say something. "No, forget it. Never mind. It's not a big deal."
Azure Kite tilts his head the other way, as if considering, and a few moments later, a garbled message shows in Haseo's chat box: T%$n yo$ &al#.
It takes him a moment to puzzle it out, and he's startled when he does. "Wait, you're saying you…want me to talk to you?"
Azure Kite nods, looking somehow satisfied, and Haseo can only blink at him for a few moments in amazed shock. He's just a program, he doesn't - or does he - with Aura involved, it's always hard telling-- "…I guess I can do that. But don't stab me if you get sick of hearing me."
Azure Kite blinks slowly, considers that too, and then his mouth moves, corners curving upward, baring a mouthful of sharp fangs.
Once again, Haseo's startled into brief speechlessness, and then he speaks without thinking. "Have I entered an alternate universe, or did you really just crack a smile for me?"
…He's almost certain that was a laugh in response, and somehow, it makes him smile too.
"Never mind. Come on. Let's get back to work. Have I got a story for you."
